As a refresher .. this is a photo of our house when I was a kid.

And the model of that house.

There were three other buildings on the farm.
Here are the barn and the chicken coop.
We had goats and chickens so both of these buildings were small.

When I was a kid, the farm was well kept and the buildings were well maintained.
I can remember complaining about having to go out and re-stain the logs and re-paint the window frames on the house and buildings.

The farm was sold in 1964 and as you can see, 50 years of time and weather have taken a toll on the buildings.

My models are built as I remember the buildings with nice dark wood and yellow window frames.

Here is the barn.

And the chicken coop.

The third building was used to store feed, seeds and garden tools.
It was first built as just a lean-to shed that was covered with red asphalt roof sheeting.
Later an addition was added to the front and was built out of logs.

We always called it " the little red shed " but you can see that there is almost no color left on the building now.

Here is the model.

The three buildings together so you can see the difference in size.

Beautiful creations. Was there another topic on the house, by itself? I can't remember...

The colors are great. How did you do the hinges on the barn door?

The barn door hinges are cut from thin cardboard.
