Hi Everyone....Here you see pictures of skyscraper scenes in "Central City" on my Twin Lakes Central layout. While some of the buildings are produced by MTH and Lionel, many are scratch and kit built. I will describe over time how I built them and so please come back often for updates and new pictures. As always, I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for taking the time to look and I hope you enjoy!.....Alan

Alan - these are tremendous works of art that are an inspiration to me personally, as I am partial to big urban layouts. Someday I hope to have a collection of buildings even just half as large as what you have here.

Keep up the great work, and if you have the time, tell us a little about how you make them.

Thanks for sharing!

Yes I agree, I would like to know how you made your skyscrapers. They are very impressive. Maybe a tutorial, step by step with photo's if you get the chance.

Thanks guys....as I have mentioned before, the construction of the skyscrapers vary from completely kit-bashed to ready made. Some have been constructed from modified building kits and others from combinations of a variety of materials... I will post in my blog a step by step build in the near future.

Fantastic! Great city! I hope mine turns out at least half as good as yours did.

Alan,

Is that magnificent glass covered station available as a kit or was it scratchbuilt?

Absolutely magnificent. I've been following this forum (and Alan's layout) for months, and I've never been more inspired by a layout anywhere. Mark

Roy..thanks so much and forgive me for not responding sooner...the glass covered train shed is a product of bridgeboss.com and is in a kit form. Jim will custom make just about anything you want.

Mark...I don't know what to say other than I am kind of choked up by your comments. There are so many nicer layouts out there that for someone like you to say what you have about my layout is very humbling to me and at the same time makes me smile! Thanks so very much...
