Follow the building process for an S gauge scale model of the Charlote NC train station. The laser work is being done by Allen Gothe of Twin Whistle http://www.facebook.com/pages/Twin-Whistle-Sign-Kit-Co/104633869574519 I will be updating the progress on the Model Building Services facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Model-Building-Services/135168169874782
I know this site is for O scale but the process is the same and this could be made into an O scale building just by scaling it up.

After weeks of reaserch, one week of doing the drawings, another week of Allen Gothe from Twin Whistle doing the cad work and laser cutting the pieces. I finally got to spend a day assembling the building.

That looks amazing. Can't wait to see the finished project. The laser work did nice clean cuts. What is the base size of the station. Hope to see more updates, thanks for sharing.

The footprint is 17" x 18" in S gauge. If my math is right it would convert to 21" x 24" in O scale. One of the reason Acrilic was chosen was for the clean cut and smoth surface. The cut is even more impresive on the smaller pieces.

The building was painted black to prevent light from going through the walls, then it was painted gray, and then it was painted the final building color. The Brick is grouted, posts are painted and the first roof sections are glued on. I used laser cut paper roof shingles from GCLaser to represent flat teracotta roof tiles.

Here are the final photos of the station. I hope you have enjoyed seeing the process to go from drawings to finished model. I will have this model on my table at the York train show in the Orange hall row K 19,20.
