My son and I decided to pour concrete today in front of Cody's Cold Storage. We used 1/8 hardi board, grey primer, sandstone spray paint and a #2 pencil.

Is the pencil for the block look and the cracks?

Yes, we used a #2 pencil for the joints and cracks. After making the lines and cracks rub a finger over the lead and shade it in. You can use the pencil for shading too. For example cracks that had some hunks of concrete that came out. Thanks for looking. Nick
