Enjoyed the hi-cube scratchbuilt posted recently and thought I'd add my boat carrier, which I use to carry boats (dinghies, dorys, skiffs, punts, barges and so on). It is O gauge 2 rail 1:13.7 simulating 18" gauge industrial line

The car itself was made from 2x4s that builders threw away (dumpster diving). All of the wood is held together with toothpicks. Drill holes, soak toothpick with Titebond III and insert.

Wood distressed with wire brush. Coloring is white and black (less of latter) WalMart Apple Barrel paints diluted in windshield washer fluid 1:10, a trick I picked up from a Swedish modeler. I also used antiquing rust 2 part solution (sophisticated finish) found in Michaels. Wheels are 16" sierra Valley all steel, including axles.

hooks and St Charles journals are cast in Britannica by a friend in Rochester NY

I did 2 of these cars and I'm doing 2 more. I've got canals and aqueducts outside and need these to carry boats, intermodal operations. I'm currently laying rails atop the aqueducts. One side is regular track and I'm doing a monorail on the other side. By monorail, I mean I rail, sort of like they had in India, Ireland and a few places like that
