The Archive now has the ability for us to embed videos into our topics and replies. Notice the new icons above the text box for your posts for Photos (camera) and now videos (video camera).|
To embed a video, your video must be on the web somewhere. The J&C Studios Archive does not offer video upload & hosting. Your photos can be uploaded and hosted on the J&C Studios Archive, but not videos. By far the most popular free way to get your videos hosted on the web is on YouTube.
Once your video is on YouTube (or another video-hosting site like Vimeo, Hulu, Dailymotion, Flickr, Metacafe, Photobucket, and many others), find the "Share" button and click it. This should provide a URL that you can copy (Control-C) and then paste (Control-V) into the Video Embed Code in your post (next to the video camera icon). Then just click the "Insert This Video" button next to it to get your video inserted into the text of your post. This will place something like the following into your post text:
You can then move it around in your text just like you can with images.
Then click the "Post" button at the bottom to submit your text, and the video should appear as an embedded, playable video in your post.
Note: you must have the latest version of the Flash player installed in your browser or the videos will not appear and/or play properly. This is not specific to the J&C Studios Archive, but virtually all sites that have embedded videos on them.
