Hello,

I have gotten a few queries about how I make the coolers on the front of the Union RR engines. It is a very simple process that I thought I would share.

I use blue or pink insulation board and some very thin TIG welding rod. You could use brass or any other wire you like.

I start by cutting the rough shape of the cooler. You can use a hot knife, razor saw or an exacto.

I then round off the edges with some 600-800 grit sandpaper.

Use a blade or razor saw to cut a groove to simulate the lid.

Make the handles by bending the wire around the tip of some needle nose pliers.

Push them into the foam.

Paint with acrylic paint. I paint white first then red and finish by highlighting the handle.

Cooler:

Hope this helps. Post some pics if you give it a try.
